Tubular Thursday
Today is a really good day for me. The week has been so busy and I've been really working long hours to get lots of things accomplished. Why I'm enjoying it even more is because my boss (who kind of resembles a dragon) she is on leave. It's just a bit more relaxed when she is not there standing over me with her whip. I'm also excited as I have an interview tomorrow on this wonderful project I've been working on for sometime now. Will it all come together? Will the client like it? I'm not sure but I'm really on a high with positive and excited feelings. I hope they like it - hopefully I won't have to do too many alterations.

Movie and Baking Week
This week seems more like a themed week of baking and movie watching. So far this week I have watched a few more movies than I would watch in a week. Here they are:
Fantastic 4 - Rise of the Silver Surfer - I loved this movie because it didn't go for too long, it was light hearted entertainment and I didn't feel like I had wasted my money seeing this on the big screen. I was entertained by this movie - not once did I get bored which is hard to say these days as it seems with the trilogies that sometimes should never have happened you just wish you hadn't sat there for that long watching that (like spiderman 3 - draw out the ending why don't you and don't get me started on Shrek 3). I have to say though, I couldn't help but look at Jessica Alba and think what... She looked totally hollywoodified. Blonde hair and I know that she is naturally tanned, but she reminded me more like a Beckham knock off. I couldn't stop staring at her, she looked odd.
Grandmas' Boy - This movie really made me laugh. It reminded me of some of the people I had worked with during the years. Such nerds. It was a Happy Madison movie and had some of the Sandler regulars. But it had me laughing from start to finish - especially that guy with the robot voice. Oh and also has that chick from ER and Freaks and Geeks.
The Holiday - This was just the movie I needed to watch last night. It was great. Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz (who's hair I have to say looked amazing), Jack Black was great but this is the first time that I thought that Jude Law actually looked dashing. I have never quite gotten the Jude Law thing, maybe it was the Beckham tan he had in the movie, a little brown suits him. Simply Charming.
Superman Returns - I wish I could say this was good but I had fallen asleep and woken myself back up at the 53 minute mark. I couldn't simply sit through this and I never end up trying again to watch a movie I fell asleep in.
Last night I made some Chocolate Fudge. I thought I'd give the Chocolate fudge recipe straight out of the Edmonds Cookbook. It tasted OK but just a bit disappointing as it involved 2 cups of sugar and even though I heated it until it dissolved, it was very sugary and not so much creamy in the mouth. It did melt in the mouth but I love the fudge that doesn't taste as sugary and also is a bit creamy when you put it in your mouth. Very dark fudge. I'm going to wrap it up in cellophane and give it to a friend so they can decide what the fudge needs to be delicious. Though if you have any recipes, let me know. Tomorrow night I need to make some dark choccy chip cookies followed by a flourless chocolate cake.

New New New
Today started off in a couple of factory shops. I went to a bread factory outlet shop and got some lovely white sourdough bread and also an absolutely devine foccacia. I still am quite stumped what they put on it but every bite was simply heaven. Then I headed to the chicken factory shop where I didn't pick up anything but just had a look around and what they had. Off to the cake shop to research my birthday cake then off to a local shopping mall where I picked up this pair of winter pjs that I had wanted since last winter, 1 pair of boots, 1 pair of heels (all on sale) then got a new bag which was not on sale but that was my day of shopping. I also picked up a bottle of Veuve Clicquot for my mother as it's her birthday next week. She still hasn't advised me what she wants and my brother seems to have the good presents sewn up. Hmm, I wonder what I will get her.

Men in my city
I live in a city that's so small, there's hardly any single men. Which makes me wonder. I mean, I have standards and I'll be honest the fact is that you can't be interested in someone who has perhaps already been out with perhaps your arch enemy. I have to admit, it makes me wonder. What would happen if i lived in a big city, where there were options for men. I have to be honest, that's why I'm still single. Also the fact that I pour my heart into a job that I hate as I know there isn't a good man behind the scenes. Until or so I thought, that there was this guy that I thought wow, he's kinda cool. But like a total idiot, I thought that he could be interested in me, and then I find out, maybe I was looking at him what I thought was making eye contact as a crazed idiot. How can you be sure? I was talking to a girl who kept looking at him the whole evening, then he left and I was like that guy is hot. Then she told me the story about him and her which amounts to nothing but awkwardness and then I think well, maybe he was looking at her the whole time and I was this tard who has perhaps a thing for him. I really do want to take off, not just out of the city, but also out of the country. I can't help think if I do, there could be happiness around the corner. When is it time to call it quits for a city and just move on?

People with Germs..
People with Germs who go to work so they can give it to other people absolutely stump me. Or more likely, rack me off seeing I have caught a cold off a guy at work who looked so sick yesterday that he was just red in the face. He has had a couple of days off, but for the past two nights I've had headaches. Today I felt all clamy. My hands are freezing but my head is sweating. I went shopping the other day and picked up some dark two tone pantyhose. I was looking for a really edgy pair but when I saw that they were $40 for one pair, I headed to a more favorable priced store where I got some great pantyhose for only $15. They have a ladder already up the butt crack - not too sure why it happened there, but they are still wearable! I picked up some of my home grown mandarins the other day and found this rather odd one and just had to share.

Birthday Cakes
As you are aware I will be getting older in the next couple of months so I'm trying to decide what kind of birthday cake I should have for this occassion.
After watching Ace of Cakes on the food network, I feel like I should be making this myself, but I am not a cake decorator and while I could make a good one, it's my birthday I should buy not make.
I'm wondering what kind of cake I should get. Last time I had a custom made cake, I wanted Check Your Head album cover from the Beastie Boys but instead the cake shop couldn't do it in those days so they did the Hello Nasty cover for me instead. In all honesty, it looked really cool and the candy make sardine tin I could keep forever. That was the idea anyhow, but dad wrecked it so we ended up chucking it in the bin.
The factors that contribute to this are:
1. Design
2. Price
3. Taste
4. Delivery
Design
Should I get a novelty cake? Novelty cakes are way more expensive than standard cakes, but it's a big occassion, what am I to do?
Price
I can get a devine chocolate cake for $30-40 and then just adding Happy Birthday MissE would cost $3 extra. I don't want to pay over $110 for a novelty cake, but the idea where I can get a standard cake for 30-40, I could spend that money on something else (like a new pair of DC shoes).
Taste
I would prefer to get a cake from a place I have tasted before. I know cakes are cakes, but I don't want to take the chance on this ocassion. - Maybe the standard chocolate cake is the one.
Delivery
I guess this may come into it. Do they deliver or would I have to pick this up? Delivery please.
Here are a few cakes I have liked surfing the net. Don't worry about the ages on the cakes, they are just the pictures I have found.

Hair Model
Freezing in a pair of tights with a skirt over top I drive home from being a hair model while it's 8 degrees outside. My car heater is on 25 degrees and I stick a big winter jacket over top to stop my teeth from chattering. I have finihsed my 2 nights as a hair model. It went well and my new hair cut is very Vidal Sassoon 2007 but also it looks like a flapper from the 50's. I like it because it's something different, however I have a feeling it will be a pain to grow out. So far I am known for the girl who changes her hairstyles, but I only had this past one for 3 weeks so that certainly is a new record for me. We also got our faces made up. I wear make up some times, most of the time I don't choose to as my skin is in really good condition for my age. But this makeup artist must have put on what I like to call industrial foundation. Honestly, when I looked in the mirror I could see the foundtation simply caked on. I don't imagine that she would do her clients like this because she also makes money doing make up etc. But it was like those girls in high school that you just wanted to get out your chisel and just start chipping away. It made my face itch too a bit. The worst part was when I came to take it off - I used my Dermalogical Ultracalming cleanser working it into my face. It appears it hasn't made a dent. I splash my face with some water then wipe my face to leave the towel caked in makeup. I've washed my face 3 times and I still feel like it's on my face. We weren't under harsh lighting and it wasn't like it was a photo shoot, but I've already washed my face three times but I feel like exfoliating it. Oh my poor skin, I hope I don't come out in zits tomorrow with all that crap clogging up my pores.

DC shoes please!
Today started off great with a trip to the beautician where I got my eyebrows waxed and my eyelashes tinted. I've been getting my eyebrows waxed for years and there is nothing like it. It's the almost instant transformation and only cost $26. It's like a mini makeover. Once a year (when I tend to overpluck them and they look hideous) I grow them for about 6 weeks until you cannot see the previous shape so that my beautician can work wonders. I cannot stress how important this regime is. It is also the cheapest way to make over your image. I almost felt like going to a massive birthday party this evening, but I'm still reelling over this weeks work events. It's also supposed to be 3 degress overnight so it's one of our coldest nights in a while - nights when you should be tucked in bed not puking in a gutter. Tomorrow and Monday night I will be a model in a salon demonstration for my hairdresser, so that will be a bit more interesting. I get a free hair cut as well but seeing I only had it cut 2 weeks ago, I doubt it will make much difference. Although I am slightly excited about it.

While I was out at the shops today, I saw these DC shoes that I wanted to buy. They were about $179. I tried to search online to see how expensive they really were. These shoes are only like $70US which is approx $85 in my money. The only problem is is that shipping is like $60-$70 US and when you convert these two amounts adds up to ab out $177 in my currency. I'm really thinking of getting these as my previous DC shoes are getting smelly and also my job involves a lot of walking so it would be a wise investment.

Restaurant Hopping
Last night and today I've eaten far too much at meals that I had to attend. Last night I went to a great place round the corner from work.
Unfortunately, I have no idea what the place was called so I can't fully review it. As I did not have to pay for the dinner I ate as much as I could (plus I really needed to soak up the beers with something). The meal started off with a glass of quite nice Sav. Then onto the most delicious breads and dips. It was so delicious in fact that it had beaten any breads and dips I've tasted before. For the main I had mussel fritters. Boy, I've never tasted something so good before. I almost considered going there for my birthday but it doesn't really have that atmosphere for a nice birthday lunch / dinner. They played Gipsy Kings which my companions hated but was rather pleasant for me so that I could zone out in the conversation. I certainly will go back.
Today for lunch I stacked up once again feeling somewhat like a fatty after going to another restaurant. I had dessert this time and made sure I put all toppings on it. The only thing was that I had to go for a major walk afterwards and my stomach didn't feel the best after that. I think two restaurant meals in a week was pretty bad though. I'll have to be extra good this weekend.
Tomorrow I'm going to the beautician and I'm so excited - my eyebrows are soon to look fantastic.

Sometimes there's nothing wrong with a..
It's just after 11pm as I post this, and this is NOT going to be one of those PC posts. As sometimes there's nothing quite like going to the toilet after a 20 minute walk. Dinner with our boss and another colleague. A great dinner at a great restaurant. (There is more to this story but after a previous post I will not say). I have 2 rollies from a colleague. Walking home for 20 minutes, rolly taste in my mouth, I would ilke nothing more than to hurl on the side of the road. At the same time, I'm dying for the toilet, what do I do? Think positive thoughts until I get home, go for a massive piss and then head to the iMac. I still feel like puking from 2 ciggies but the smell of my feet is somehow putting me off that!

Birthday Happenings
I have decided one thing though. I will get my 4th tattoo for my next birthday. I have been researching this for a few months now and I have selected what kind of tattoo that I'm going to get. To ensure it's authentic, I've purchased an encyclopedia of relevant symbols. I ordered this online at a bookstore last week. The store advised that it had the book in stock and that it would be dispatched in 24 hours. When I checked today where it was there was a revised date as they had been burgled. I think it's pretty sad that they had been burgled but I kinda wonder who would do that sort of thing and where would they sell all those books? Could it be a disgruntled purchaser? I've checked online auction sites and they don't have my book. Surely they wouldn't make something like that up! Wouldn't they have some type of security system with all those books? Perhaps I should stop thinking about it here and just patiently await the delivery of my book. I'm sure I'll squeal with glee when it gets delivered anyhow and my birthday is still a bit away.

I love my iMac
I live in an 1 bedroom apartment by myself and while I love to come home and watch certain food television shows, I love coming home to my iMac. My life is quite hectic at the moment and there's certain things I would love to blog about but cannot at this time. I really would just love to sit down and pour out what is going on in my life at the moment in this blog but it is work related and I don't want my blog to be about that. I also don't want any negativity on this blog! At the same time, something really strange happened to me today and while I have shared this with a lot of people, I would just love to share what that was. As this is in the public domain, it's best not said. But just keep in mind when you read this blog at the moment, I have some strange goings on and I would like nothing more than to escape...

Winter Wardrobe
I had such a great weekend. Yesterday I went to watch a friend play sport. Even though it's not flooding here like it is in New South Wales, it was still raining on and off. I was dressed in:
I'm also pleased to say, my cookies went down a treat.
- jeans
- long socks
- a thermal under shirt
- fleecey jacket
- a puffer jacket with hood
- a beanie.
I'm also pleased to say, my cookies went down a treat.

Today is tax return day. It’s naughtily been sitting in my cupboard for the last 3 weeks. The plan was to get up early, go to the grocery store, do the tax return, and some cleaning. Half of the day has gone so now I’m setting a goal to do it at 2pm. Though I’ve had a productive morning. I certainly did the grocery store thing, stocked up on my baking goodies so I could make some cookies. Lately I’ve been rocking the floury dough products like bread and scones. This morning I made 1 batch of Dark Chocolate and White Chocolate Chip Cookies and then moved on to some Peanut Brownies (minus the peanuts, I guess they are kind of like afghans now) which I iced with dark chocolate and walnuts. I did taste both batches and they taste great.

A Friday without ANTM
Tonight is the first Friday night without ANTM. What's a girl to do if that's not on! After an exhausting week, I retire home feeling all flu like. All I really want to do is relax but I've been sitting at my MAC for the last 3 hours doing this blog page. I'm such a perfectionist, but in the end I thought stuff it. At least it's up now instead of leaving it for another month. I was talking to a friend and he didn't know what ANTM was. It's been on for a few seasons already, how could he not know I thought. Plus, he's a man, sure, he's a bit older than I am which is probably why he didn't know but I was really happy to find that ANTM is in Wikipedia. I had the inkling that he thought I had made it up. Like I've got nothing better to do than make up acronyms all day. MoFo.
This year I turn an age which shall not ever be uttered. As it's such a big deal, I have been thinking of what I can do for it. I'm not really a birthday person. While a friend suggested a holiday in Phuket, I would rather spend my holiday time in December, so I'm not feeling that adventurous towards a holiday. Instead, I am thinking of taking a couple of days for pure pampering.
Here's a few ideas of what I'm contemplating. Suggestions are more than welcome.
I was also thinking, as I get paid a couple of days after my birthday, that I could just relax on the day, do a few indulgent things but afterwards (when I get paid), I could then live every day to the fullest. I would have to do this until my next birthday. Which actually gets my blood pumping just thinking of how exciting that year would be.
I've also been thinking long and hard about presents. I'm not a person who really needs a lot. I know the value of a dollar, so I'm not really too concerned with presents. However I do know that there are two presents that I want that I will be getting. This book and also a pink toolkit.
Being a greedy book person, I have also seen another 2 books I would like (Kitchen Diaries and a book featuring shoes). The only other thing I would really like for my birthday is my favorite Lancome fragrance.

- Definitely another tattoo to mark the occasion.
- Hot Air Ballooning
- Ooh, I'd also love to go to our local chocolate boutique
- Cooking Class
